Private equity company Consilium has acquired Italian aerial lift specialist manufacturer Cela.

Based in Corte Franca, Brescia, Cela produces spider lifts, trailer and truck mounted platforms, as well as firefighting equipment and was majority acquired by fellow Italian Consilium’s Private Equity Fund IV in June this year.

According to industry reports, current stakeholders president Paolo Troni, Roberto Rocca and Simone Scalabrini will retain a significant investment in the company.

They will be supported by manager Stefano Di Santo, who has previously been general manager for Southern Europe at Haulotte, and will oversee growth at Cela.

Industry estimates have put Cela’s revenue for 2022 at €45 million. The company exports to more than 50 countries worldwide, including North America, which has been targeted as a specific area of growth, considering the fast expansion of the spider lift sector in the US.

Paolo Troni, CEO and president of Cela said, “The agreement with Consilium represents a further important step for the development of Cela. We are convinced that we have chosen the best partner to help us carry on the path that the company has taken in recent years.”
