Jens Sjöberg returns to Ramirent after 17 year gap

Ramirent has appointed rental industry veteran Jens Sjöberg as its new CEO in Sweden, taking over from Erik Bengtsson, who had led the Swedish operation temporarily for the last year and who remains CEO of Ramirent group.

Sjöberg returns to Ramirent after a 17 year break, during which he worked with one of Sweden’s largest scaffolding and weather protection companies, Xervon, where he was CEO. His career in rental began at contractor NCC, where he led its rental businesses NCC Maskin and Altima.

The incoming CEO said he was looking forward to building on Ramirent’s business and in particular its digital presence; “In recent years, Ramirent has developed several smart technical solutions that will make it easier for our customers to become more efficient and sustainable, and that is something I want to build on.

“At the same time, it is important that our success is based on teamwork. We need to band together, roll up our sleeves, take responsibility and focus on what we are good at and can influence - then we will be strong.”.

He said it felt good to be returning to Ramirent; “It will be exciting to be involved in and lead the company through the changes that the industry and the company are currently in.

“I am convinced that together we can achieve great success, not least by taking advantage of the opportunities as an increased investment in new technology gives us.”

Ramirent group CEO, Erik Bengtsson, said Sjöberg was the right person for the role; “The challenges that the industry is currently facing require a leader with knowledge of our everyday life, but also with the ability to challenge and develop.

“Increased digitisation is required to make the entire industry more efficient, and in that area, Jens has solid knowledge and great commitment. In addition, he has leadership that matches our culture and vision.”

Ramirent, which is part of the Loxam group, has 80 locations in Sweden and 1,000 employees. Sweden is just one of its countries of operation, with activities also in Finland, Norway, the Baltic States, Poland, Slovakia and the Czech Republic.
