15 October 2024
At 2024 Equip Expo this week in Louisville, Ky., John Deere is debuting its latest Z900 electronic fuel injection (EFI) ZTrak mowers as well as newly enhanced QuikTrak stand-on mower decks for the Q865R EFI model.
The ZTrak lineup now includes the Z955M/R, Z965M/R, Z975M and Z985R models with power options from 30.5 to 40 hp. The company said the new units offer smoother operation as the fuel injection system and ignition work together to maintain performance.
“Our new Z900 EFI ZTrak mowers represent a significant advancement in our lineup, providing a larger portfolio of EFI horsepower ranges for smooth performance across different conditions and grass types,” said Brian Aldinger, product manager, John Deere. “With features like Oil Guard, electronic throttle control and improved machine diagnostics, we are ensuring that our customers can achieve superior productivity with more power than ever before.”
The display panel on the ZTrak mowers delivers information to operators on vehicle hours, fuel level, engine speed and system voltage, as well as indicators for power take-off, operator presence control, low oil pressure, park brake and diagnostic codes.
John Deere is also showing a new 72-in. 7Iron PRO deck option for the Q865R EFI model that it said enables its customers to benefit from a larger cut width. The mower deck includes anti-scalp wheels in six locations around the deck to minimize scalping in uneven terrain, a single-drive belt design and spindle covers to ease clean-out at the end of the day.
“Expanding our deck offerings on QuikTrak mower improves productivity, ensuring that our customers have the best options available for various mowing applications, further solidifying John Deere’s commitment to providing superior quality mowing solutions,” said Carl Agee, product marketing manager, John Deere.
Also debuting is a new 60-in. FastBack PRO rear discharge deck available for the Q865R EFI mower. This rear discharge deck option enables mowing in both directions without the need to reposition the mower to control clippings, making it suited for use in such challenging settings as cemeteries, roadsides/medians and governmental properties.
