Australia-based rental company Kennards Hire has continued its growth in Victoria with the acquisition of Melton U Hire. No financial details of the transaction have been disclosed.

Founded in 2004, Melton U Hire operates one branch located at 173 High Street, Melton. The purchase brings the Kennards Hire network in the state to 41 branches, which it said reinforces its “commitment to serving the hire needs of communities across Victoria.”

The 2,460sqm revamped site is home to hundreds of products, including earthmoving, access and site equipment for large construction projects and scaffold, ladders and floor care for DIY or home renovations.

Alex Hoffman, area manager, Kennards Hire, said, “We’re thrilled to open in Melton and to offer our support to the local community. With the skills of our new and experience team member, and the insights we’ve gathered from our recent growth across Victoria, we’re certain that our Melton team will deliver exceptional service to both DIY enthusiasts and construction experts alike”.

Corey Lanigan, previously of Melton U Hire, will assume the role of assistant branch manager; “Having worked at Melton U Hire, I’ve always enjoyed the diversity and challenges of the hire industry. I look forward to bringing Kennards Hire’s top-notch service and experience to the Melton community.”

Kennards Hire branch manager Andrew Lloyd, Anthony Kokonis, Jackson Greig and Hudson Shaw (service person driver’s) will also join the branch.

Meanwhile, Kennards Hire said it will continue the sponsorship of Melton Broncos Rugby League Club, a partnership previously held by Melton U Hire.

Selected pieces of Melton U Hire equipment and memorabilia will be sent to Sydney and housed in the Kennards Hire Museum.
