15 October 2024
VP plc has appointed Sinéad Brown as Group health & safety and sustainability director.
Brown joins the company from Costain Group, where she held a number of roles over a 15 year period.
She was most recently the safety, health and environmental manager for the water sector and has also led teams in the highways and nuclear divisions.
She spent the last three years seconded to the Smart Motorways Programme (SMP) Alliance, a Project 13 enterprise of seven organisations working collaboratively with a network of over 100 supplier partners to achieve “greater emphasis on standardised design, increasing productivity and decreasing overall costs.”
In her new role with VP, the company said she will lead the enhancement of its existing divisional health and safety teams by “driving the implementation of group-wide, streamlined processes.”
This appointment is the latest development in VP’s refreshed strategy which see’s its specialist divisions working more closely together to drive growth.
As part of that strategy, the company underwent a leadership transition and created an executive committee, which Brown also joins.
It has also committed to progress its digital strategy, aimed at “simplifying processes and improving the customer experience.”
Jonathan May, Chief Operating Officer at VP, said, “Sinéad has extensive experience in the health, safety and sustainability fields which will further build on the foundations that Vp already has. The safety of our teams, understanding the risks facing the business and also the leading sustainability opportunities that our teams can bring to customers are key.
“I believe that Sinéad’s experience in the construction sector has many parallels from which we can learn. We wish Sinéad a warm welcome and look forward to working with her to drive our renewed strategy forward.”
