Noida Twin Towers finally demolished

Specialist contractor Edifice Engineering, in partnership with Jet Demolition, has completed the demolition of the Noida Twin Towers in India.

Specialist contractor Edifice Engineering, in partnership with Jet Demolition, has completed the demolition of both the Apex Tower and the Ceyane Tower - collectively known as the Noida Twin Towers - in India.

The 100-metre-tall structures, located in the Noida region, were taken down via an implosion that saw the use of 3,700 kg of explosives.

Comprising around 32 storeys, the towers were built by developer Suptertech. However, the Supreme Court of India ruled that their construction violated building laws, after a nine-year legal battle recently came to an end.

In preparation for the demolition, officials from the Noida Authority deployed over 100 water tanks around the site in case of an emergency, and 20 dust supression units to help quell the implosion’s resulting dust cloud.
