Nuclear decommissioning expert to speak at WDS

D&Ri is proud to announce that Ashley White, Programme Manager at Nuclear Restoration Services (NRS) is to present at this year’s World Demolition Summit, which will take place in Stockholm, Sweden, next week.
Ashley, a physicist by training, began her career twenty years ago as Reactor Physicist at Wylfa Power Station on Anglesey in North Wales.
Today she leads NRS’ (formery Magnox) decommissioning programme of work, which focusses on asbestos remediation, management and remediation of redundant contaminated facilities, de-plant and demolition of redundant plant and buildings on eight of the 12 NRS sites.
“Ashley’s deep expertise and dedication to sustainable decommissioning in the nuclear sector bring invaluable insights to this year’s World Demolition Summit,” said Leila Steed, WDS Programme Organiser.
“Her commitment to advancing diversity and fostering innovation aligns perfectly with the summit’s mission to drive collaboration.”
During her career, Ashley has held various roles including, Head of Reactor Physics, Nuclear Safety Case Manager, Engineering Manager and Deputy Site Director.
Her experience includes working across all phases of the lifecycle of nuclear plants – from operations, defueling and decommissioning, and has seen her lead multi-disciplinary teams on a number of major projects and programmes in the UK decommissioning sector.
Ashley is also a passionate advocate of diversity and inclusion and is a regional lead for Women in Nuclear UK. She believes that exposure to diverse perspectives improves employee morale and productivity, drives problem solving and innovation and leads to more collaborative working with better results.
