The deal for Cemco, a third-generation family owned and operated business, was agreed earlier this year.

It includes the company’s 147,500-square-foot (13,700 sq m) manufacturing facility in Belen, New Mexico, and the rebranding of Cemco, which will now also be known as Superior Industries.

However, the Cemco name will be retained as a trademark for its VSI impactor brand. Superior, which described the OEM’s VSI as “the pioneering vertical shaft impactor”, says it is both widely used and “very popular” when it comes to the production of cube-shaped aggregate.

Commenting on the purchase of Cemco, Jason Adams, President of Superior Industries, said: “This acquisition comes at a time when we’re responding to dealers and increasing manufacturing capacity.

“The New Mexico facility will be the new home to all of Superior’s impact crushers, increase portable plant manufacturing by about 40%, and give us more room to strengthen stock of critical components.”

While Jason described the VSI as “a high-grade performer”, he said: “It’s those hard-working men and women of Belen, New Mexico, that we’re most blessed to have in our expanded company. In fact, we want to double the amount of employees in Belen as soon as we can”.
